Textile artist Sam Peare is inspired by nature but also the texture, colour and pattern of fabrics. Her work is recognisable by its mix of vintage materials and vibrant embroidery threads, which is as quirky as it is old fashioned.

Beatles, butterflies, ladybirds, dragonflies and bees also feature within the lush folds of hand-crafted purses and handbags while woodland animals such as badgers, owls, foxes and deer are depicted on larger shoulder bags, which feature heavily in the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Spring/Summer 2010 will also see the launch of a wedding and special occasion collection with the added bonus of a bespoke service available. And if you love your home as much as fashion, the Sam Peare look is extended across gifts, cards, cushions and framed embroideries.

Recycling is an important aspect of Sam's work and with that in mind, look out for the launch of a special limited edition range of vintage and second hand bags that the designer has re-worked and embellished with her embroidery designs.

Sam Peare comments: "I want to create things that people love and want to own but I don’t want to add to the problems of mass consumerism and the damage that is done to the environment in the process. So I like re-using old things and bringing them back to life. Every piece of mine is unique and I find inspiration in the new old things I find."
